Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal

By 10:27 AM

Originally built in 1933 as the Union Terminal train station, the building was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977. Union Terminal stands on a prominent location one mile northwest of the city center.  In the late 1980s, the building was renovated and then reopened as Cincinnati Museum Center in 1990. It was recently named one of the top 50 architecturally significant buildings in America by the American Institute of Architects.  The Cincinnati Museum Center houses a variety of fun adventures all inside this unique building: Omnimax Theater, Cincinnati History Museum, Duke Energy Children's Museum, Museum of Natural History & Science, Edge of Appalachia, Cincinnati Historical Society Library and Special Events and Exhibits.  We found ourselves greeted with a very rainy day in Cincy so the Museum Center seemed like a wonderful way to spend a few hours while attempting to stay dry. Lots of fun, though as I am always reminded once inside a museum... they aren't a barrel of fun.  But Kam was a great sport and we all had a fun afternoon.
