Ok... so it's not technically a "new" experience considering I made these when I was about four years old with my mom. But to my defense I doubt I really had much to do with the process other than occasionally sprinkling something, or just standing there nodding as she went about with her creativity and focused artistic talent. My mom was always super creative, but she was a lot like me back then... she wanted the project to come out perfect, so many times she stepped in and did it herself. Don't get me wrong, I never minded. Science fair projects, art assignments, making a "mole" in high school chemistry class... Mom always ensured that her girls got A's on these types of projects. But our involvement was slim if at all. So when I randomly came across this recipe, something just clicked in my head... I wanted to make them! I don't have small children of my own to make ornaments with (or for) but I have tons of nieces, nephews and kids of dear friends... so why not. I love anything artsy like this, so I jumped right in. They came out pretty good if I do say so myself. :)
