Wish Upon a Hero: "Everyone has a wish; Anyone can be a hero"
What a wonderful website. With our current world so focused on better and faster technology, the human side of relationships falls off the edge of intimacy. But there are some benefits to this new social-network mania we are all thrust into each day. Hundreds of people have found amazing ways to extend a helping hand to people across the globe, many times complete strangers, through some wonderful websites and social networking platforms. Wish Upon a Hero is just a site. I stumbled across this site today but pure chance, and my interest was immediately peaked. Thousands of people have posted "wishes" that range from requesting Christmas Cards for a child who was run over by a tractor to asking for assistance in paying a gas bill in town frequently found in freezing temps. It's Christmas, and I've extended myself in many directions to lend assistance as I can, but there is an entire section dedicated to people wishing for cards. Birthday cards, Get Well cards, Christmas cards... all sorts of categories. How simple is that? Sending a card costs nearly nothing, but can make a huge difference to a soldier overseas or a terminally ill patient unable to leave the hospital. Sign me up. I became a "hero" today and have so far granted three wishes. I've extended the offer to grant an additional 11, but am still waiting to hear back from the individuals who posted the wish. I truly encourage you to check the site out: www.wishuponahero.com. It is such a great feeling to help someone else, even in a small way such as sending a Christmas card. Please take a moment to check the site out.
