Goodbye 2010... Hello 2011
How do you end your year? Without much thought and barely a glance back? Or, do you bend down and kiss the ground you walk on because you made it through another year ' just barely! I am ending mine filled with gratitude at all of the amazing opportunities that became part of my journey this past year. I remember the last day of school when I was little. We would want to sing and shout all the way out the door and chant the all famous words, “School’s out for Summer!” (cue a little Alice Cooper here) As we come to the close of 2010, I am reflecting on the past twelve months, and I have to admit, it was a fantastic year. A year filled with refreshed energy, personal strength, and renewed focus through mindful choices in my everyday life to live just a little truer to who I am… live just a little bigger than before… and to live a little fuller and experience the richness this life has to offer. This challenge was an amazing journey shared with many dear friends, family members and even strangers. To all of those people, I am eternally grateful that you leant your time, support, love and energy (and often times patience) to me and my crazy ideas. Without you, this would not have been nearly as fun or fulfilling.
I’ve been asked by many people to summarize my experiences and create a “list”. While some certainly stand out more than others, it’s difficult to distinguish between any as better than one or another. It’s all been amazing. My absolute favorite part of the year was the fact so many people were able to share in these new experiences… that time with each one of you was the best part. Some of you are never mentioned in the blog posts, and some have their photo splashed all over. My friends and family members are as diverse as the adventures I have had, and many would rather not be in the blog. But know you are in my heart as part of this past year.
So as I wrap up this blog, I prepare to toast 2010 a fond farewell with good friends and embrace 2011 with open arms. I look forward to the new year and greet it with the expectation that God will do great things and I wish the same for you. Goodbye 2010. Hello 2011.
