Attitude of Gratitude Project
With today's speed of light technology, we are provided with zillion ways to communicate with one another. The universe has made it unbelievably simple for us to share words of all kinds with one another... friends, family, strangers in chat rooms or on Twitter... there is no longer the excuse that the "card was lost in the mail". Yet how many of us take advantage of this gift and provide positive feedback after receiving great guest service? How many of us send more thank-you cards today compared to ten years ago... now that it simply just requires an email address and a few seconds of our time? My bet is VERY few can raise their hand to that one. What a shame! Negative feedback in too plentiful these days... why aren't we doing more to share the good stuff? Why aren't we telling managers what a great job their staff did, or thanking a good friend for lending us an ear when we needed it most, or just sharing our gratitude with our loved ones for the roles they play in our lives each day that grossly get taken advantage of through common routine? For the month of March, I've decided to commit to the "Attitude of Gratitude Project", where I will make a point to write at least one thank you/praise letter each day. Imagine how wonderful this world would be if EACH of us said "thank you" to someone else every day... and meant in with all our heart.... or if EACH of us recognized something positive in just one person every day and shared it with that person. Well, I'm out to find out. Stay tuned. I'll post my letters on this blog each day. No promises that my writing will be very profound or even all that interesting.
