West Orange Trail - A magical morning bike ride!
It's been almost six months since I've been out on my bike enjoying the beauty of this sunshine state. With my current situation allowing a lot more flexible time, I decided to take advantage of the weather and headed out for a long bike ride along the West Orange trail this week. What a glorious decision. The weather could not have been more perfect and the many sites enjoyed along the way made it that much more special. "Be Still, and know that I am God" - Psalm 46:10 was my mantra... I had a goal of quieting my mind and just being still. What I got in return was breathtaking. 1/4 into my ride I looked to my right and saw a bald eagle standing on the ground. No kidding. I immediately stopped. He turned his head to the left... and looked right at me. I went to grab my camera and he paused, turned his head and took off flying away from me (and my camera). I was speechless. To see a bald eagle is a special moment in and of itself, but to see it so up close (less than five feet away from me) was amazing. My ride was as much of a spiritual journey that morning as it was a physical one, so I felt like this sighting meant a lot more than just seeing a bird. I confirmed it by looking up the meaning of the bald eagle in terms related to Christianity... and it's meaning? God. God's presence. "Be still, and know that I am God." What an amazing ride! Enjoy some of the fun photos I snapped along my ride... the one of the eagle is NOT from my ride... but I wanted to include it anyway.
