Dinosaur World
This infamous landmark is passed by thousands of people each day. Most know it as a point of time in their trip. Most never stop. I've lived in Florida over a decade and have never once stopped. The place looked slightly run down from I-4 (there are two large dinosaurs you can see from passing by) and why on earth would I, an adult, stop there? Well, this year in my quest to try new experiences, especially those in my own backyard, I decided to go. I'm glad to report the place wowed me. If I had a 5 year old wanting to do a birthday party, I'd seriously consider this place. There are over 150 life-sized dinosaurs displayed outdoors in a natural setting with signs explaining how to pronounce their name, where their remains were found and some small facts about them. The dino stroll was fascinating even for me as an adult. And being the attraction snob that I am, I was impressed with the upkeep of not only the grounds by of the dinosaurs. They were in great shape. There is a lot of stuff for the kiddos... a Boneyard where they can uncover a life size dinosaur skeleton, a Fossil Dig where they can search through sand for authentic fossils to take home, a great playground, a plenty more. I love when a place surprises me and exceeds my expectations. So the next time you are driving down I-4, consider stopping into this place.... especially if you have children.
