Dinosaur National Monument - Jones Hole Trail (Utah)

By 11:41 AM

From where we were camping, this hike was four miles (two each way).  A fairly easy hike that takes you along a babbling brook stocked full of fish and littered with beautiful foliage (flowers, trees, vines, etc).  Starting the hike we encountered quite a few long-horned sheep who simply glanced up at us from their afternoon snack then went back to what they were doing.  Apparently the trout fishing is amazing here - and Emily and Eric did catch a few fish on the way back.  The waterfall is gorgeous (and really really cold) and clear - this is one of the few areas you can't bathe in the water (no soaps, etc).  We also got to see some amazing rock art of pictographs and petroglyphs. This was such a beautiful hike!!

So the top of the waterfall is a perfect for your butt - so you plug it by sitting in the water stream... then someone stands below and then you stand up and release the water onto them... WOW! It's cold...
