Girl's Dance Party - Hanging with my nieces
I'm always excited when given the opportunity to experience something new with my family... either them being directly involved in the adventure of just being along for the ride. Living so close to my nephews Caden and Gavin, I'm often blessed with nights of just hanging with the boys - playing, reading books, lots of energy. But this past week I got several opportunities to spend the evening just hanging with the "Girls" - my nieces Sofia and Marisa. Such fun! Girls play in such a different manner. So instead of walks to find frogs... we dressed up in fairy wings, lots of pink and accessories, turned the music loud and danced. Even 8 1/2 month old Marisa found her legs bouncing and booty shaking to the music. Sofia squealed with delight as she jumped all around and just clapped to the beat. A Girl's Dance Party is great fun... try it sometime if you have the chance. The stress of work or adult realities suddenly seems so insignificant. My second favorite part of my evenings with the girls was putting them to sleep. Marisa is such an easy baby... so sweet and snuggly. I'll never forget my time with her just cuddling and her smiles. Sofia slept on a "special" bed in my room... and never once did she give me any trouble when it was time for bed. We'd line up all the stuffed animals around her and tuck them all in (including "Little Hoot" - the stuffed owl I had when I was a baby... that she took to sleeping with while here). Then we'd say our prayers, thanking Jesus for everything wonderful from that day. Sofia's memory of those things were so sweet but often hilarious. "Aunt Christina - let's also thank Him for the Farmer's Market today!" Felt very thankful for being given the opportunity to have such special time with these beautiful girls.
