Gaston Edwards Park (Orlando, FL)
Gaston Edwards Park is one of Orlando's most visible parks - thousands of commuters stuck in I-4's congestive traffic gaze upon its lush greenery - and the adjoining, picturesque Lake Ivanhoe - daily. The park serves many roles in the community. Local water skiiers and jet skiiers skim across the lake's waters in warmer weather. Volleyball players congregate at the park's sand courts for evening or weekend games. Lunching downtown workers use the park as a convenient out-of-office getaway, and moms and dads of preschoolers socialize and enjoy the playground area. The area is just across from Orlando's popular "Antique Row," which is populated with antique shops, boutiques, and popular restaurants. There is even a fun park table permanently set up for chess games for those more intelligent types (not me!). Strolling through the park was beautiful but windy today… Spring just isn’t quite here yet. But I could see coming back with my nephews on a gorgeous weekend afternoon for playdates.
Beautiful view

The chess table - I don't know how to play, so I'll pass
