The Orlando (downtown) Public Library

By 6:53 PM

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The downtown facility is the largest public library building in the state of Florida and literally about a block from my condo. The Library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Huge in size, the offerings at this location are immense from computer classes, story-telling sessions for the kiddos, recycling programs for donated books, etc. I run by the building weekly. And I am one of those last standing dorks that love the concept of a library book... something about the crinkly plastic covering when you open it.. I love it. Well, I normally order my books online and get home delivery (don't you love modern technology!??!) but today I decided to visit this monument since its so close.
