CityArts Factory
CityArts Factory = 8 Galleries, Dozens of Artists, Free Admission! OK... so if you know me, you know I was in heaven here. I run by it all the time. I'm near it literally every day, just a block from my office. But I always seem to miss their hours of operation by a shred of time... well today I got lucky. They are normally closed on Mondays, but today there was the project of changing out some of the exhibits so they allowed us to walk in and look around. Not all the galleries were open, but we did get to see a fantastic exhibit by the Osceola County School for the Performing Arts ( EXPOSED: Subjects to Interpretation). What amazingly talented students! Seriously contemplated purchasing one of the pieces. The Kiene/Quigley Community Gallery showcases local artists that are juried and win the honor of being here. The school's art was in this gallery. I could be spend hours in a really good art gallery... especially when there are meaningful pieces. Lots of great stuff today... but must is coming down so I look forward to seeing what they have up this Thursday when I go back for "Third Thursdays".
