Jacksonville Beach

By 6:58 PM

One of my favorite things about living in Central Florida is the accessibility to water... lakes and oceans are literally never far at all.  I'm learning with this challenge there is a LOT in Florida I haven't made time to try until now.. which saddens me since I've lived here for 12+ years but also excites me since it opens up so many new experiences in my back yard.  Jacksonville Beach is one that I've had every intent of visiting but just never made time to do.  I even have several dear friends that live there, and again, never make the time to visit.  So I'm changing that this year.  On a business trip to north Florida I paid a quick visit to a few of those such friends, and spent an afternoon on the gorgeous Jacksonville Beach.  What a great day it was to be in the sand.  Looked as if a local college had the afternoon off as there was a littering of scantily clad bodies throughout most of one particular area of the beach.  Ahh.. to be in college again.  Actually wait, I take that back.  I wouldn't trade this life for that one regardless of the offer.  But it was fun to watch that carefree attitude of frisbee, beach volleyball, beer out of the can, food from the local 7-eleven and behavior too questionable for a public beach.  I'll definitely make a point to drive out to that beach again... it was a beautiful one.
Beautiful day
The "Spring Break-like" crowds
Even the seagulls were stopping to enjoy the gorgeous day.. such pretty birds
Walking on the beach... a huge wave came up and startled me.. whooo that was cold!
