The Phantom of the Opera

By 4:03 PM

With a flash of bright light, audiences are transported back to The Paris Opera House circa 1911, where a tale of mystery and love awaits anyone who holds tickets to Phantom of the Opera. Since its debut in 1996, stories of the beauty this broadway show bestows on its audience has swirled around me but I had yet to experieince it for myself. With its presence in Orlando, and this challenge I've laid before myself for 2010 I figure this would be the year to change that.

A mysterious, shadowy phantom falls for a beautiful young opera star and presents her with a choice: be with him forever or he will do the unthinkable. The play holds daring performances, intricate, smoky sets, including the Phantom's lair of shadowy catacombs, stunning stage props and an award-winning, memorable scores earning Phantom huge critical acclaim.

I joined the audience this afternoon, marveling at one of the production's most climatic scenes, in which a dazzling replica of The Paris Opera House chandelier comes crashing to the stage. Despite that beauty, I found myself in anticipation for most of the memorable scenes as they dramatically unfolded before me. What a beautiful play. I'm so thankful for the dear guest that accompanied me to this play's performance. What a beautiful afternoon. Thanks Jasmine for the discount code on securing fabulous seats on such last minute timing!!
