Lake Eola's Ducks & Swans

By 9:07 PM

I live directly on Lake Eola and enjoy the beauty of it daily either on my daily runs, from my balcony with a cup of hot tea (or glass of wine) or by attending one of the many events at the park. One of the draws of the lake is the many residents of ducks and beautiful swans.. you often will see kids with their bread bags feeding the friendly (sometimes aggressive) birds. I’ve never done that.. well, I don’t have kids, so that’s not so unusual now is it?! I have now (fed the ducks – not had children). I took Gavin down to Lake Eola tonight, making a quick stop for some healthy fresh wheat bread (we don’t what our birds to get fat now do we!?). What fun we had! Gavin laughed the time away as he teased the birds, and then generously ensured that everyone got enough to eat. He was such a gentleman that he always split his slice of bread in half, offering me one half so I could share the fun. Afterwards we went down to the playground and played for an hour on the swings, ropes course and jungle gym. What fun to be four years old again! I thoroughly enjoyed playing at the lake in a way I haven’t done before. Thanks Gavin! Special thanks to my friend Billy for taking the photo at the top for me.. glad we ran into you at the lake!!
